Louvre King's Apartments


A few kings actually lived in the Louvre, before the Louis' moved to Versailles. These pictures are from his apartments here.

The main dining room.  Seats 40ish, as I recall.

A small apartment room.  The rooms were very linear, not boxed as they would be in our homes today.  You might have to walk through eight rooms to get to where you were going.

King's bed.  Note how short it is.  This is a ceremonial bedroom, as he slept elsewhere.
